Medical Laboratory Science Program

Established in 1968 as the Methodist Hospital School of Medical Technology, we pride ourselves in producing highly qualified medical laboratory science graduates who are competent to enter the laboratory profession. Students work alongside our faculty in serving patients’ medical needs, from routine lab tests to preparation for complex medical procedures. Our staff includes dedicated and experienced clinical instructors, laboratory scientists, physicians, and administrators, all of whom participate in the education of our students.

Academic Affiliates
In order to apply, students who have not yet earned a baccalaureate degree must meet the pre-requisites of our medical technology program. We are affiliated with:

Post-Baccalaureate Program
This refers to a student who already has a bachelor's degree upon entering a hospital-based program.
The Methodist Hospital MLS Program accepts applicants with bachelor's degrees who have already taken the prerequisite courses. Applicants with bachelor's degrees are accepted based on their qualifications and mandatory prerequisites. Students may be required to update any biology and chemistry course work that was completed more than five years prior to admission to the clinical year.
